Initially made for Ludum Dare 48 this game most likely went unnoticed by a lot of the people reading this.
The first thing you will noticed about this game is the unique movement system of dragging your sorry body around. You’ve been infected with a parasite and unfortunately you’ve also been partially devoured. If you don’t drag your way out of this situation while injecting yourself with what I am dubbing “fix me juice” then you will die. Full stop. However if you have the guts, or are okay with the lack there of, then you need to play this.
Lone Fungus first really grabbed my attention after I saw a post on Reddit and right from the get go I was curious. I quickly found out it had a demo and immediately hopped into it. The demo is a small piece of the developer’s vision for Lone Fungus, spanning the first area with some of the relics available as well as two bosses. Even with what’s available though there is so much to get excited about here. With only 4 days remaining on their Kickstarter (at time of writing) and Basti, the developer behind Lone Fungus, being so close to his goal I really wanted to try and raise awareness of my new favorite mushroom in gaming.

TelusFax is a small teletext simulator and puzzle game by Richard Sherriff.
If you don’t know what Teletext is, it was a service created in the UK in the early 70s. It was a sort of digital magazine; you chose a page and could read the news, look at TV listings, read letters and reviews and it was all available through your TV.
Fuchsia is a surreal point and click game, and the first game developed by indie developer duo Hambug Games. It appears to take place in the void of space. Throughout the game, the protagonist will slowly piece together where they are, why they’re there and what on earth is going on.
Nepenthe is a narrative driven RPG drawn entirely in crayons. It was part of the itch.io bundle for racial justice and equality. Whilst browsing hundreds upon hundreds of games in the bundle, this one caught my eye because of the unique art style so I decided to give it a go.

Thing-in-Itself is a short interactive story by Party for Introverts that explores a concept from Immanuel Kant’s philosophy and guides you through a short narrative.
Game Breaker’s Tool Kit Jam #2 submissions are now closed and the ratings period is open for another day or so. The goal of this Game Jam was to make a really bad, ugly and frustrating game. It was honestly difficult getting through all the submitted games, but I managed to play every one of them!
This post will cover both There Is Nothing Here and its sequel: There Was Something There. These are both by Adrian Dittrick and were recommended by him as I was a big fan of Prep School Horrors, and these games exist in the same universe. I’ve written about Prep School Horrors before and it’s a game I really enjoyed and played a good few times, so I was keen to check these out as well.
Myth Bearer a low res RPG-style game developed by JC Bailey. It features a large open world with simple combat mechanics and it creatively turns travelling around into a puzzle.
You start out the game locked in a cell. You can get your character to walk around and inspect or interact with things. Inspect by hovering the mouse over things and a tool tip will appear, telling you a little bit more information. You can interact with things by clicking on them when you are stood next to them. The game starts out with a little puzzle to teach you how to inspect and interact; you can’t leave through the door since you’re locked in, so you must find another way out.
